Bloom’s!

One of my favourite ways to differentiate in the classroom is to design inquiry using Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Colleen Young has gathered some of the many resources created to support the teaching with Bloom’s into her LIVEBINDER simply called Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Rethink your teaching and use Bloom’s as just one of the tools to support your students with ICT and Information Literacy!

Put a post it on PINDAX (like wallwisher) or reply below.

One of my recommendations is the Chronicle of Darkness series by Michelle Paver.

Where do you start?

Well…. there are so many resources for students on the internet that it can seem a little overwhelming. It is important to be aware that cybersafety includes a range of issues: passwords, security & viruses to name a few. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that confronts us in this electronic age as  ‘being connected’  becomes integral to our daily life.

The resources below are some starting places for you to consider:

HOOVER your sites

Sitehoover is the top 2010 tool (Web 2.0) from Larry Ferlazzo’s The Best Lists on Technology in 2010.

It is great tool for sharing websites.  A possible use for students would be  compiling their recommended researched sites with annotations highlighting  the reasons for the selection of each specific site (being critical evaluators).

This is a link to my library and ICT resources SITE HOOVER page (blog, wikis, twitter) that I created to evaluate just how simple it is to use.

Easy! Highly recommend it.

JSSALCLibrary wiki

JSSALCLibrary wiki

I have been updating the JSSALCLibrary wiki page! It now contains pages for the PYP and the Teacher Librarian, The Learner Profile and Attitudes and Taking Action.

This will be a resource that will hopefully be of value to teachers and will be contantly added to. Please let me know if you have resources that you would like to add.
