Music education is known to assist children in all aspects of development. A successful music program is not only a fun outlet of creativity and expression but also fosters students’ academic, social and emotional growth.
Music at St Andrews offers students the chance to develop their musical skills and knowledge, to use their imagination and creativity and to express their thoughts and emotions. Students learn a variety of musical pieces from different times and places, as well as experimenting with a vast range of instruments throughout their Junior years.
Through the Units of Inquiry students are able to use deeper thinking to make real connections, making the learning meaningful, fun and engaging. Students have opportunities to create and invent, to compose and perform, to listen and move, all helping to develop confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding.
