In week 5 Oliver and Kate showed us Makey makey which is an electronic board with wires that you can use to control games. The person that is holding the earth/green cable is the one that can control the game. With all the other wires you can plug them in to anything and when you tap the object it does something to the game. For example you can plug a cable into a banana if you are holding the earth/green cable you can tap the banana and it will count as a key on a keyboard and it will make something happen.

Assisted technology

Cat,a year 12 student from MaryMac created a prize winning piece of assisted technology.

Belief-Cat believed that everyone should have access to gaming.

Idea-She created a console for a child with cereable palsy to use.

Who-Freind with cereable palsy.

Why-She wanted him to communicate with technology in his own way.

What-A gaming controller.

proccess-Idea-design(cardboard),prototype(3D printed),final design,final version.

I like that she thought of people with disabilitys and made a console for them so they can be included with technology.

In week 3 we learnt about podcasting with mrs Kelly.We learnt that podcasting is on demand which means you can listen to what ever whenever,it’s pre recorded,it’s an app.Podcasting has some similaritys to the radio,like,they both communicate,they both share ideas and they both use microphones.Radios are live and they travel through sound waves.

I am going to start listening to podcast after mrs Kellys speech about them.

When we did Drones with Mr Ivet we learnt about how drones can help us and also the disadvantages.Some ways they can help us is looking out for sharks,making movies/videos,pizza delivery,google maps and real estate.Some of the disadvantages is,invading privacy,can break down and pollute,can disrupt wildlife and they can disrupt air space.

I learnt a lot about drones and there advantages and disadvantages.I also thought it was really cool to see a drone fly around.

                                               Provocation

for our provocation we used Sphero balls,coding and camp reflections with pencil and paper and then IPads. In coding we did debugging and algorithms. In Sphero balls we learnt that we can communicate with technology. In 5B we did a camp reflection. We found out that it’s easier to write on an IPad than on paper because it’s easier to express ourselves.

I learnt about how technology helps and changes are lives and that you can communicate with it.
